Who are you and do I deal directly with you about my function?

My name is Mike Hos and I am the owner/caterer for this company based here in Wanganui. You will deal directly with me in regards to the booking and catering for your function.

Do we have to have a minimum number for you to caterer our function?

Yes 35 adults and then this is subject to my availability on that date.

Can you cater for large functions?

Yes, I have 30 years of experience in the  catering industry, having catered many and varied events from conferences, weddings, reunions, birthdays, farewells, funerals, training days… I am comfortable catering for functions with larger numbers. Should you wish to know more about the types and size of functions I have catered please give me a call.

Do you provide cutlery and crockery in the per person price or is there an extra charge for this?

Cutlery and crockery for dining & buffet serve ware only is supplied as part of the function unless arranged differently with the organiser. Please note we do not provide glassware for the tables.

Do you supply the wait staff and how much do you charge?

We supply the wait staff to assist with the delivery of our part of the function (the food). There is no charge for the staff that are working for myself.

Do you set up the whole function?

Each function is different but for the majority no.  You are responsible for the seating plan, general room set up which includes tables, chairs, tablecloths and decoration of the tables after we have set the cutlery.  We arrange a time with you after this is done to dress the tables with cutlery and set the buffet tables.

Would you do the bar (supply & serve guests) at a function?

Yes, I am able to do this.  I hold a caterers’, off licence allowing me to sell alcohol under the provisions of the Sale & Supply of Liquor Act 2012.

Do you supply bar staff if we do our own bar?

No we do not supply bar staff.  This is up to you to source appropriate staff.

Do you have a travel fee?

Yes, this is assessed on a function by function basis and the number of trips and travel distance to venue.  I am happy to discuss this if you choose to meet me regarding catering your function.

How do you charge?

The numbers confirmed are the numbers that are charged.

When do you require final numbers for the function?

For a standard function final numbers are required 5 days prior to the event.  If it is a particularly large event an earlier indication may be required but this will be discussed with you directly.

What do you charge for children?

Under 12 years half price.
Under 5 years no charge.

Does your quoted price include GST?

All prices are inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated.

How can we make payment?

All payments are to be made directly into the businesses bank account you will be provided.

Can we pay by credit card?

No, we do not have the facilities to take credit card or Eftpos payments.  All payments need to be made via our bank account.

When is payment due?

Depending on what has been discussed and organised regarding payment any payments where invoices are sent post function these are to be paid within 7 days of receipt of invoice.

Do you require a deposit?

This is discussed on a case by case scenario and is often dependant on the demand for the date.
